This exposed-stud rustic-style cedar clad cottage on a small, wooded site on Lake Huron is a response to size constraints and the necessity of transporting building materials across the frozen lake in winter. The open plan of the communal living spaces allow for family gathering, with three adult bedrooms, a dormitory-style bedroom for children, a play loft, and small nooks all providing more private areas. Private and public porches provide views to the lake and the surrounding nature preserve.
