2015 Detroit Home Award Design Winner
1st place- Large Remodel
Originally designed by Tivadar Balogh, our approach was to update this home while maintaining its mid-century modern design. We updated the kitchen, great room, dining room, and master suite to be in keeping with the original design intentions but with a fresh outlook. Walls were removed and now the kitchen and adjacent living spaces provide an open soaring space for entertaining and relaxing. New cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, and furnishings are all in keeping with the modern aesthetic. White kitchen cabinets and countertops with fir accents, along with similar entertainment cabinets in the great room complement the original oak trim, wood windows, and doors. The master bath was enlarged to include a former walk in closet and now provides a serene space with the generous tiled shower highlighted by the skylight above
