2014 Detroit Home Award Design Winner, 1st place- Vacation Home in Michigan
2016 AIA Huron Valley Honor Award- Residential
Set atop a wooded hill, this early 20th century lakefront cottage required a renovation that would accommodate contemporary living, while retaining its vintage charm. Original stone fireplaces anchor the renovated home, with a new functional porch hearth greeting visitors at the entry. A breezeway frames views to the lake, while connecting the home to the new garage and artist’s loft. Metal standing seam roof, bluestone pathways, and an earth-tone color palette unify this home with its natural surroundings.
