The former multipurpose room at Haisley Elementary School in Ann Arbor was transformed into a vibrant media center in 2006. New tiered seating takes the place of a former stage, and a spirited “tree of learning” acts as the central checkout desk in addition to marking the entry of a new handicapped accessible ramp. A vivid color palette mirrors the prominent mural commissioned from a local artist. Sound is dampened above quiet reading spaces with the addition of a dropped acoustical surface unit.
