2014 Detroit Home Award Winner: 1st place- Conservatory/ Screenroom/ Sunroom
This screened porch addition compliments the geometry and massing of the existing home and existing site condo development when viewed from the neighborhood golf course. The rustic interior is an unexpectedly charming experience enriched by the owner’s authentic flea market and antique fair finds. The recycled materials include the brick for the fireplace from Detroit, sash windows, an antique screen door, and furnishings. The woodwork and beams are painted to look whitewashed. The concrete paver floor is the remnant of the previous terrace. Exposed beams and windows in the peaked ceiling above accent the open space of this charming, rustic screened porch.
